Submissions
The Royal Society Of Fellows Law Review invites
the submission of unsolicited original Manuscripts by legal scholars,
academicians, professors, judges, practitioners and law students
that offer critical legal analysis and reflective thought.
The Editorial Review Board of the Royal Society Of Fellows
Law Review reserves the right to accept or reject any submission,
and reserves the right to condition acceptance upon revision of
material to conform to the Journal’s criteria as indicated
below. All submitted Manuscripts are accepted on the basis of substantive
merit, timeliness, professional interest and appeal, extent of critical
thinking and reflective thought, and contribution to the furtherance
of legal scholarship, academia and the subject matter discussed
in the submission.
Types and Subject Matter of Submissions
Manuscripts in consideration of publication may be in the form
of articles, essays, comments, book reviews and other law-related
pieces, which address important cutting-edge issues and emerging
trends involving domestic and international taxation, offshore financial
centers, and other intersecting areas of tax law such as asset protection,
anti-avoidance, anti-money laundering, e-commerce, trust and estate
law, international tax planning, etc.
Format:
All submissions to the Royal Society Of Fellows Law Review,
including the Abstract and Manuscript, submitted in consideration
of publication, whether in the form of articles, essays, comments,
book reviews or other law-related pieces, must strictly adhere to
the following particulars:
Parts of the Submission: All submissions for
consideration of publication must include: (1) a cover letter
[to be included in the body of the email used for submission];
(2) Biographical sketch of the Author(s) [to be included in the
body of the email used for submission]; (3) an Abstract [as an
email attachment] and (4) the actual Manuscript of the submission
[as an email attachment].
Cover Letter / Biographical Sketch: The cover
letter should include the full names, titles, qualifications,
telephone numbers, fax numbers, addresses, and emails of all Author(s).
A biographical sketch should be included within the body of the
email of each Author. The biographical sketch should be no more
than two paragraphs for each contributing Author.
Word Processor Format: All submissions, including
the Abstract and Manuscript, submitted in consideration of publication,
whether in the form of articles, essays, comments, book reviews
or other law-related pieces, must be in the format of MSWord.
Spacing: Both the text and footnotes of the
Abstract and Manuscript must be double spaced.
Type set: The type set should be either Arial
or Times Roman. The point set for the Abstract and Manuscript,
for both text and footnotes should be 12-point.
Footnotes: It is required that footnotes, not
Endnotes, be used.
Headers / Numbering: Each page should be numbered
in the Right Hand Upper Corner of each page. The Header should
include only the last name of the Author, or Lead Author, and
the date of submission.
Citation Style: The only citation style and
format to be used is as presented in The Bluebook: A Uniform System
of Citation (17th ed. 2000) as published by the Harvard Law Review
Association.
Abstract: All Manuscripts submitted in consideration
of publication, whether in the form of articles, essays, comments,
book reviews or other law-related pieces, must include an Abstract
of not more than 250 words. The Abstract should clearly and concisely,
de minimis, state exactly why or what the particular submitted
Manuscript adds to the field of knowledge within which it falls,
and why it should be published.
Length: Although Manuscripts of any length are
considered, concise legal scholarship generally will present within
a Manuscript of 25-100 pages [including footnotes]. Of course,
book reviews, commentaries or other law-related pieces will likely
be substantially shorter.
Margins: Margins should be not less than, nor
greater than, 1.25 inches [top; bottom; left; right].
Provision of Sources: While the Editorial Review Board of the
Royal Society Of Fellows Law Review shall make
every effort and attempt to locate sources found within the footnotes
of submissions, because of the international character of some
submissions, some material will simply not be available within
the United States. Accordingly, whether sources are likely to
be found within the United States or not, every Author whose Manuscript
is accepted for publication should be prepared to provide the
source material for each and every footnote found within the Manuscript
upon request of the Editor-in-Chief. Failure of the Author(s)
to provide such source material shall ultimately preclude publication
of the Manuscript. All footnotes will be checked by the Editorial
Review Board for both substantive accuracy and proper citation
format.
Method of Submission
The preferred method of submission of Manuscripts to the Royal
Society Of Fellows Law Review is via email attachment.
The email should be addressed to:
Thomas A. Gionis, MD JD MBA MHA LL.M. (Cand.)
Editor-in-Chief, Royal Society Of Fellows Law Review
Tgionis@aol.com
The subject line of the email should read: “Manuscript Submission”
There should thus be two (2) attachments for every submission:
(a) an Abstract; and (b) the actual Manuscript being submitted,
either in the form of articles, essays, comments, book reviews or
other law-related pieces.
Lead Author: The Author, or where there are multiple
Authors, the Lead Author, should be clearly identified within the
body of the email and have a clearly identifiable email return address.
Acknowledgement Return Receipt: Within 72 hours
of receipt of the Manuscript submission by the Editor-in-Chief of
the Royal Society Of Fellows Law Review,
the Author, or Lead Author, will receive a confirmatory email that
their Abstract and Manuscript have been received and that each is
retrievable and in proper MSWord format. If an Author, or Lead Author,
does not receive such a confirmatory email within 72 hours of submission,
the Editor-in-Chief, Thomas A. Gionis, should
be immediately contacted at Tgionis@aol.com.
Direct Mail: Alternatively, where an Author does
not have access to email, submissions of Manuscripts may be made
to the Royal
Society Of Fellows Law Review via direct mail. If
Authors submit via direct mail, they should include three (3) copies
each of the Abstract and Manuscript, along with a cover letter and
biographical sketch as noted above. The submission should be mailed
to the following address:
Thomas A. Gionis, MD JD MBA MHA LL.M. (Cand.)
Editor-in-Chief, Royal Society Of Fellows Law Review
St. Thomas University School of Law
LL.M. Program in International Taxation
16400 NW 32nd Avenue
Miami, Florida 33054-6459
Within 72 hours of receipt of a Manuscript submitted by direct
mail, a confirmatory written acknowledgement will be dispatched.
Time of Submission
Because the Royal Society Of Fellows
Law Review accepts,
reviews and considers submissions on a rolling year-round basis,
there is no time cut-off or deadline for submission.
Review Process
The review process is non- anonymous. All Manuscripts are reviewed,
selected, edited, and published by the student Editorial Review
Board. The student members of the Editorial Review Board make all
editorial decisions, such that all Manuscripts, regardless of the
stature of the submitting Author(s), will be subjected to rigorous
editorial review.
The selection committee in respect to each submission will consist
of the Editor-in-Chief, and at least two (2) other Editors (either
Executive Editors or other members of the Editorial Review Board),
such that a total of three (3) Editors will have review responsibility
for each and every submission in consideration for publication.
Each submission will be critically evaluated for content, reasoning,
critical thinking, preemption, accuracy and citation. Requests for
expedited review will be honored if an exact date of determination
is given and the Royal Society of Fellows Journal is given first
right of refusal for publication by the Author, or Lead Author of
the Manuscript being considered.
Although any submission will undergo numerous stages of consideration
and review, as a matter of policy, the Editorial Review Board does
not inform Authors as to the status of their Manuscripts through
the review process. It is generally anticipated that the review
process will be completed within two (2) weeks of submission, after
which an Offer letter will be presented to the Author.
Where a submission is rejected, as a matter of policy, the Editorial
Review Board does not discuss the reasons for the Journal’s
publication decisions.
Manuscript Revisions / Edits
Because the Royal Society
Of Fellows Law Review profoundly respects
the Author’s ownership of the submission as his own, the Journal
shall strive to preserve the Author’s vision, voice, individuality,
creation, and essence of each Author's work.
Accordingly, the Royal Society Of
Fellows Law Review affords substantial deference
to the Author’s work, and edits primarily for grammar, spelling
and citation format. No substantive or stylistic edits or revisions
to a submission will be finalized for publication purposes without
the express consent of the Author, or Lead Author. Any edits to
a submission made to the Royal Society
Of Fellows Law Review shall be made as reasoned
constructive suggestions, and will not serve as editorial edicts.
The Author’s judgment will be afforded primary respect in
determining whether any suggested change or revision will ultimately
be made.
Copyright
All articles published in the Royal
Society Of Fellows Law Review Journal or web site

Exceptions
Exceptions to the above Submission criteria will be entertained
by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Review Board upon cohesive
presentation and submitted request by an Author.
