Requirements for Membership on the Editorial Review Board
The Royal Society of Fellows Law
Review strives for excellence in legal scholarship
and academia. Membership on Royal
Society of Fellows Law Review Editorial Review Board
is one of the highest academic honors the school offers and provides
excellent training for the practice of law. Accordingly, selection
of law students for membership to the Editorial Review Board will
be made following careful consideration of an applicants application
to the Editor-in-Chief and Faculty Advisors. The Royal
Society of Fellows Law Review will consider any
law student for membership on its Editorial Review Board, based
upon the following criteria:
(1). If the prospective law student member is currently enrolled
in the St. Thomas University School of Law International Taxation
LL.M. program, and has already attained the J.D. degree, the prospective
law student member must have completed at least one semester of
the LL.M. program.
(2). The prospective law student member must submit a Letter of
Application to the Editor-in-Chief expressing the student’s
interest in becoming a member of the Royal
Society of Fellows Law Review Editorial Review Board.
(3). The prospective law student member must submit a Personal
Statement to the Editor-in-Chief which outlines the student’s
academic background, explains why the student desires to become
a member of the Royal Society of Fellows
Law Review Editorial Review Board; and outlines
what the student believes he may contribute to the
Royal Society of Fellows Law Review.
(4). The prospective law student member must submit a Writing
Sample, no greater than five pages in length, which sufficiently
evidences his understanding of a substantive area of law and competence
in Blue Book citation.
(5). If the prospective law student member is currently enrolled
in the St. Thomas University School of Law International Taxation
LL.M. program, and has not yet attained the J.D. degree, the prospective
law student member must provide evidence that he is in the top 10%
of his class in academic ranking in the J.D. program; and the prospective
law student member must complete a Letter of Application, Personal
Statement and Writing Sample as indicated above.
(6). If the prospective law student member is not currently enrolled
in the St. Thomas University School of Law International Taxation
LL.M. program, and is currently enrolled in a J.D. program, the
prospective law student member must provide evidence that he is
in the top 10% of his class in academic ranking after one complete
year of attendance in the J.D. program; and the prospective law
student member must complete a Letter of Application, Personal Statement
and Writing Sample as indicated above.
